Mobile Friendly Websites, Matlock and the Derbyshire Dales
We create websites that look fabulous on your smartphone! | Matlock Web Design
If you're serious about ranking well on Google these days, it is essential that your website is mobile friendly.
Google is becoming more and more insistant that your website needs to be mobile friendly (or responsive, to give it's official geek name). This means that your website changes its layout to suit the size of the device that it is being viewed on - and Google openly penalises websites that do not conform.
"The great news is that all of Matlock Web Design's new websites are totally mobile friendly - so you don't have to worry about pleasing Google."
After all, more than 60% of online searches are now done via a mobile device!
What does Mobile Friendly mean?
Have you ever visited a website on your mobile and been forced to do that pinching and pulling action to zoom in to make the content readable?
If so, chances are that the website in question wasn't mobile friendly.
It may well have looked wonderful on on a desktop computer with it's high definition screen, but websites must also respond to the screen size that it is being viewed upon.
A responsive (mobile friendly) website knows the size and dimension of the screen and adapts to suit. Rather than have images spanning beyond the screen boundaries, they are more likely to fall nicely into line beneath one another, and text is likey to be larger in comparison - making it much more comfortable for the viewer to read.
